Department of Interior and Local Government The Programme partners with DILG in strengthening good governance at the municipal and barangay levels to effectively undertake and sustain peacebuilding initiatives in the PDCs. The partnership involves mainstreaming the MNLF, the indigenous peoples and women in local special bodies; providing venues for Local Chief Executives to appreciate and develop a sense of responsibility over the progress of development in the PDCs; establishing functional link of supervision and support of Municipal LGU special bodies over the barangay-based institutions; and capacitating these governance special bodies on good governance and peacebuilding. National Commission on Indigenous Peoples The partnership provides assistance to two IP communities (PDCs Imamaling and Manobisa) in Cotabato Province in processing their Certificate of Ancestral Domain Claim (CADC) into Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) and in formulating their Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development and Protection Plan (ADSDPP). It also involves information drive on Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) in selected PDCs in Cotabato and Sarangani provinces. National Disaster Coordinating Council / Office of Civil Defense The partnership involves training of Barangay Disaster Coordinating Council members of 20 PDCs that are conflict vulnerable in South Cotabato, Cotabato Province, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat and Davao del Sur on disaster preparedness and response. The 20 PDCs were also assisted to install preventive mechanisms for large-scale displacements. |
