Habitat for Humanity – Philippines and Alternative Planning Initiatives, Inc. (AlterPlan)

The partnership involves the training of 250 out-of-school youth in 15 PDCs of South Central Mindanao on carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical and steel framing. The training sessions were conducted by the AlterPlan with support from the Programme. The OSYs, some of whom are children of MNLF members, are employed in the ‘Build for Peace’ project of Habitat for Humanity in the PDCs. Some of the trained OSYs are working in Habitat projects in other parts of the country.

Another batch of at least 50 OSYs are also now being trained.

University of the Philippines School of Health Sciences (UP-SHS)

The partnership involves sending at least 25 young men and women from PDCs on a scholarship grant to study a midwifery course under the Stepladder Program of UP-SHS.

Mindanao State University (MSU)

The Programme’s partnership with the whole system of MSU is aimed at integrating the culture of peace in the education, research and action agenda of the institution through the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao.

Asian Institute of Management (AIM) – Mirant

The Programme partnered with the Asian Institute of Management and the Bangsamoro Development Agency for the conduct of training on Leading Collaborative Action for Human Security in Bangsamoro Communities for BDA leaders.

Bangsamoro Lawyers’ Network

The partnership involves promotion of the Code of Muslim Personal Law (CMPL) to improve access to Shariah justice system in the PDCs. One of the undertakings is the formation of para-legal teams composed of credible Muslim leaders who will mediate or refer cases to Shariah courts; lead in the information drive on CMPL, human rights, bill of rights and processes to access justice either through the Shariah or the regular courts; and facilitate in the use of CMPL in the Katarungang Pambarangay. The other undertaking is the formulation of a policy proposal on the use of the Shariah and customary laws in the Katarungang Pambarangay in ARMM.

Surigao Sur Organization for Human Development

The partnership involves helping communities supported by the Programme elevate from Stage 1 of Stages of Development and Transformation to at least Stage 4 through provision of basic services.

REDCOP Coalition of Surigao del Norte

The partnership involved capacitating health personnel in the PDCs of Surigao del Norte in dealing with patients diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease and other related diseases as well as conducting information campaign on prevention of kidney diseases.

Center for Peace and Development of Western Mindanao State University

The partnership was forged for the rehabilitation of the Eleven Islands community through provision of basic services. The people are rebuilding their community after the islands were abandoned 30 years ago due to skirmishes between the Government Forces and the MNLF in the area.

Muhd Fhardi H. Adjimin, Chair, Southern Palawan State Revolutionary Committee (SRC)-MNLF and President, Sapa Rubber Estate Farmers Association (SAREFA)

The Cacao Industry Support Project intends to provide additional support to a long term economic endeavor of the people in PDC Sapa through their existing partnership with public and private sector institutions in the area using peacebuilding processes and approaches.

PDA Leagues and Alliances of Davao del Sur, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato, Cotabato City, Kadtabanga Foundation, Western Mindanao Federation

The partnership is anchored on a micro-finance facility for PDAs and is aimed at boosting the capacities of the PDA Leagues/Alliances in managing projects. The facility provides opportunity to immediate family members of PDAs to engage in small enterprises to augment their incomes, access to trainings on enterprise development for the PDA households and coaching for PDA Leagues and Alliances in project management.

The Programme provides initial capital and appropriate training while the PDA Leagues/Alliances manage the project.

Save the Children Federation, Inc.

The partnership was forged for the installation of potable water system and construction of latrines in PDCs Dungos and Popoyon in Tulunan, North Cotabato.
